I wasn’t always a lover of life, or for that fact, a believer that life wasn’t some cruel game.

I wasn’t always a lover of life, or for that fact, a believer that life wasn’t some cruel game.  Being a pastor’s kid and also having a special needs brother, made life interesting. However, being an Indian descent kid with a weird name, made life hard.  As I was growing up I always wanted to believe that life was more than what was being offered to me.  It wasn’t about possessions, it was about purpose; I found purpose one day, sitting in a musty old church, praying with my parents.  From there I realized that the purpose that all my neighbors and friends and family thought was normal was never going to be enough for me.  Once I found purpose, it turned into something more than that, I found a friend.   He is a friend like no other.  He knows when I cry and also knows when I am the cause of someone’s tears.  Throughout the years He has shown me that life is more than wealth and prestige.  It is about the grace of giving and serving.  Life is about the God given strength that is given and available to each of even in the toughest of times.

My life has been filled with downs, but when I look up, they never seem to be as bad as they could be.  My relationships with my friends and family have evolved, and now I can truly love regardless of their treatment or perception of who I am.  I have found the greatest love, and unlike all the things that the world has ever tried to offer me, His love, the love of Jesus has brought contentment.  Many still struggle to find peace, but He’s never far away and He is willing to offer more than just contentment.  Jesus offers us blessing upon blessings.  Once you have felt His peace you may never need anything else.
